WORLD CUP QUALIFIER: SUPER EAGLES BATTLE READY

The senior national team's players have all landed for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malawi with the exception of Portugal based midfielder John Ogu
John Ogu, who plays his club football in Portugal for Academica de Coimbra is the only Super Eagle that is yet to hit Nigeria for Saturday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malawi's.

NGGP can reveal authoritatively that the player experienced flight hitches from Portugal but will arrive on Thursday.

18 Eagles' players defied the rain to train on Wednesday evening in the official second training session of the team.

They were the three goalkeepers and 15 outfield players.

Three more players: Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi and Elderson Echiejile arrived around 6pm on Wednesday after their flight was initially redirected to Port Harcourt because of bad weather.
They didn't participate in the team's evening training but were sighted at the Transcorp Hotel base of the team during the evening meal.

But AC Brescia of Italy's Nnamdi Oduamadi couldn't arrive Calabar on Wednesday despite arriving the country from his base early enough to hit camp.

NGGP also gathered that Oduamadi actually boarded a flight coming to Calabar on Wednesday but the plane could not land because of bad weather. The player and some top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were taken to Port Harcourt where they passed the night.

They will all arrive Calabar on Thursday morning and have a feel of the pitch to dot all Is and cross all Ts in readiness for the showdown.
NGGP and indeed all Nigerians wish the African Champions a successful outing on Saturday.
